Anyone know how to connect my laptop to my S2 so when I shoot, the image goes directly to my laptop? I seem to recall seing it demo'd at Will Crocket's seminar, but cannot remember how to do it-

Via FireWire, using Fuji CAMERA SHOOTING SOFTWARE.

Is this the software that came with the camera? I haven't used a firewire, is it a cable like the USB??

It's a cable similar to USB, yes. However, the ends will be totally different from USB. You will need a 4 pin on one end and your choice of 4 or 6 pin to the PC depending on the firewire port you have (or buy to add to your PC).

This is all PC talk. If you have a Mac then I am not sure what to tell you, because I have never done this on a Mac. You cannot shoot with the computer over the USB port but you can with Firewire and the correct software. You can download the software from Fujifilm for free if you do not already have it. Firewire is also called IEEE 1394 and your S2 has a plug in the left side that you can look at. Your laptop might have a firewire port already. It is like USB but a little different plug. Like USB you have two types of plugs for firewire. A small one like the one on the S2 Pro and a large one that looks a little like a USB plug that has one end rounded off. My laptop has a small firewire plug so I had to get a wire with small plugs on each end for this to work. If your laptop does not have a firewire port, like my wifes laptop, you can get a PCMCIA firewire card that will add it to your laptop with no trouble.

I have done it with my Apple PowerBook G3 (333mHz, 320 MB Ram), which does NOT have built-in FireWire. I used a $29 PCMCIA to FireWire adapter from... it is rather generic - eDrive? The card works fine with other FireWire devices.
In the aformentioned thread (did I mention the thead above? It's from Oct. 2002), I tell that I had intermittent problems, and I have since deduced that it was an external hard drive in the lineup that was causing the problems. In all instances that I have run tethered since, I have not had any problems.
If you notice in the aformentioned thread that I have a dental problem, you can see in this thread: http://theswampbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7395 that I have had it attended to. Sorta.
