Over the years, I've tried several Web Album/Gallery 'generator' programs. The problem with most of them is that it just takes too much time to maintain. Last year I tried Exhibit Engine, which uses MySql and PHP - very flexible, but again, difficult to set up and not that easy to set up and create new albums. For me, the main use of my online albums is to share pictures with family, so I don't need a professional setup with checkout, etc. I finally came across a package the other day that so far has been exactly what I've been looking for. Software is called WebFotoAlbum by QIC. Nothing fancy - doesn't use flash/SQL/PHP, etc....however, it is very easy to setup and maintain, and to create new albums. It has a built-in FTP client which is 'intelligent' in that it only transmits what was changed. It has several templates/formats to choose from (Style Sheets that you can modify). Here is a link to what I created tonight just 'playing around' (note - as I mentioned it is mainly for family use, so of course the pictures are mainly of grandchildren!)...and, I've only put up a couple of albums with very few pics. One of the things I like with this package is that you can create text for each picture as well as album descriptions.
It appears that there is very little support for the program and probably no future development, but for me I am happy with what it generates now...
