New to this forum and I must say, I love it!

I'm looking into buying an S2 Pro in the next month or two. Just waiting for the camera to go on sale again. I missed the Memorial Day weekend sale. Hopefully July 4th will fair better.

I have read a lot of the literature on Fuji's website. It doesn't state using the CF Type I cards. Just the SmartMedia (upto 128MB) and Type II Microdrives (upto 1GB). I am weary of using the microdrives, due to all the internal moving parts. I saw the specs on this website and it states that you can use up to a 512MB card. I'm going to assume that it's a CF Type I since a lot of you are mentioning using it and SmartMedia only has a 128MB card right now.

Doing more research I found Transcends 1GB CF Type I cards, it boasts to be 30x faster than SanDisk. Has anyone used it and compared it to a 1GB CF Type II Microdrive? I read the post that Tom V did on using the 512MB CF vs the MD. Thanks!

Also, I heard that the S2 Pro isn't compatible with certain brands. What brands, type, and size have you had incompatabilities with?

Open to recommendation and advice.

For a lot of discussion on CF cards, log onto "digitalphotographers.net"

The S2 works with CF cards, I've been using PNY because of their extremely high recommendation on the above forum. I have had trouble with Lexar 512mg card, non WA, in an S1 and never did hear from their Technical support staff. One of my "friends" took it off of my hands for $5.00. Something to be said for not stealing it from me!

I like the 512 cards. They write to a CD with a little space left over.

As for me I'm using Lexar 512mb 40x WA Pro CF and have had no problems.

Good Suggestion BuckEye,

That's a good idea of using the 512 so you can write to disc instead of having to sort out a 1GB.

LabRat,

Thanks for the site. Glad someone has the time to post a site that's dedicated to "research".

Thx!
