I also us the MB-16 with my F80, but I`ve had my flash for more than 8 months on the same set of CR123A, I live in South Africa and these batteries don`t come cheap here either. But since the SB50DX is TTL the flash tends to shoot a couple of frames more since the power output so well controlled. Since I got my S2Pro 3 weeks ago I must have shot more than 150 frames with the flash, and it is still going strong.

The BIG advantage is the control one can exersize over exposure even with the S2. The flash does not see the S2 as a digital camera, but as a normal F80, I`ve even experimented with the ISO @ 1600 and TTL-3D flash. One has to compensate by about
-3 stopsbut the results was there.

The other advantage is the fact that the SB50DX can be used as an off camera TTL-slave. Try buying another flash with that feature, then batteries won`t be your only concern.

The list is endless.
But the choice is yours.
