I don't know about you all, but I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new 24 -120 VR. When I was at Wolf Camera (Division of Ritz) here in Atlanta, GA earlier this week I spoke with a Rep there who just got word they will be available in the first 2 weeks of June.

Any thoughts?

I received information from a guy in Switzerland who bought his lens on Friday last week - anyway, my dealer still has no information.

I am desperately waiting for my new standard Lens ;-)

I have had a problem with several Nikon 24-120VR’s. The problem is pronounced blurriness in the right side of the frame vs. the left side. I don’t know if it’s a focus problem; it looks more like an aberration problem. The first lens was from a reliable Internet supplier who I have purchased many items from. Next, at a local distributor, I tried THREE lenses - their demo and two out of new boxes. ALL of them exhibited the same problem. These pictures are of static textured surfaces (a brick wall for instance), shot on a Fuji S2 and loaded right into Photoshop 7.0, and then examined. Very obvious at 24mm, f3.5. It gets better as the lens is stopped down, but not eliminated. Slightly noticeable at 50mm.

OK, one would be quick to wonder: is it something else and not the lens. My "lowly" aftermarket Tamron 24-135 does not show the effect, nor does my Nikon 18-35. I had bought the Nikon to replace the Tamron, due to Nikon's reputation and the VR and Silent Wave Motor features.

I believe a large number of these lenses may be defective or have a design flaw. Anyone who can support or deny the same problem?

I have this lens and found it to be incredible so far. Sharp as a tack. Great color. Great price ($650)
