Excellent condition, no scratches, clean. Includes cables, manuals, Tom Hogan's guide, two 512MB compact flash cards. I don't have the original box, as I didn't think it would improve my photography any. :D First $1000 (USD) plus shipping/insurance costs takes it.
I also have a Tamron 24-135 3.5/5.6 SP AD Aspherical (IF) Macro lens. I'll part with it for $250 (USD) plus shipping/insurance charges.
If you're interested in either or have any questions, drop me an e-mail (shawn @ sonnentag.net).

What prompted the switch.....
Well, none of the new features of the Nikon-based DSLR's impress me all that much. I think the S3's new sensor may produce some pretty decent dynamic range improvements, but the power consumption, memory writing speeds and battery life are dismal.
Lately I've had a bunch of trouble with AA batteries not holding charges and being dead when I need them. So I know I want to get away from AA batteries and look for a camera with a Lithium Ion battery.
I also want more speed, both in flash sync and in rapid-fire shots.
I want to have a full-frame 35mm sensor.
I'm not impressed by the image quality from the Kodak SLR/n. I want low-light, high-ISO noise to be kept at a minimum.
This pretty much leads me to either the Canon 1Ds or the soon-to-be-released Canon 1Ds Mark II. Seeing as how there is not all that much (relatively) price difference between the two, I've placed my order for a 1Ds Mark II.
Yes, the 1DsMII is EXPENSIVE, but it's my hobby, passion, whatever. In comparison to some other "sports" it isn't too bad. Some people like boating or sports cars and spend many times the money of my camera equipment.
:D
Anyway, these are my reasons and justification. I hope you all don't kick me off the forums here for being a turncoat!

Not at all, Shawn. You are not the only one who has considered the switch. I'm still thinking about it...just waiting for the S3 and latest offerings from Nikon. Let us know what you think of the Canon.

I'm with you Shawn,
Before I buy I will test each one (Kodak, D2X & Canon), for me the new Fuji is designed with wedding shooters in mind, accurate jpegs in a choice of shades, this does nothing for me.
I want resolution, low noise, speed in writing, shooting and firing, a reasonable flash sync speed and a robust body...
I feel no one else can do this for me other than Canon...
Luckily living in New York now I can test them all in the new Year...
Let us know when it arrives and what you think of it...

Wow. Are you really 101 years old Steve? (read your profile  )
What you have written is about as suscinct a statement regarding the state of affairs that I've read. I hope the D2x meets these same requirements as I have too much invested in f mounts to switch.

with all my experience, you'd think I could take a decent photo by now eh.... well, must keep trying...
Luckily I only have two Nikkors and a cheap Tokina, so I could swap effortlessly via eBay, but lets just see what the actual reviews come out like.
I say this because remember Mike, a full frame Dslr means you use the full extent of the lens... I.E. the crappy bits arund the edge....
So if the D2x' sweet spot is great, maybe ... just maybe...
