I've heard varying dpi numbers, I have been sending 300dpi files to my 2200. I'm wondering if there is any advantage to using 360dpi files ? Or any disadvantage to sending 240dpi files that some suggest ?
What dpi do you folks send to your 2200/2100 's ???? And why.

180 is fine because Epson say so.
Files are requested for print at 300ppi or higher because they end users may crop or are unsure of size or placement, or they just dont know so they overkill.
I dont know the 2200 but have had a 1200, 1290 and presently a 4000.

Doug,
You don't see any difference between 180 and 300dpi? How do you like the 4000?

180 according to my photoshop class. 150 for all others.

Shooting most of the time *.JPG (12MP 4256x2848 pixels), i set the PPI to 250 to 300 ! Printing it in A4 format, that gives me a +/- (full size) 3706x2480 pixels file ! If i want to print it in A3 format, it only slightly increases the pixel size to +/- 5020x3359 pixels, so there's no real need to upsize it by the 10% method !
All in all, i'm very happy with my 2100 (european for 2200)... I never really made any further experimentations on increasing or decreasing the PPI ratio, but i'd be curious to know if it makes a difference !?!

Thanks for the replies folks,
After posting, I did some testing of my own. I printed the same image with a 180, 240, and 360 dpi file. I haven't had time to examine them in detail, but a cursory look shows them looking pretty much the same. I'll look closer and post back if my findings are different.

One more time...
No difference between 180 or 240 dpi, and it allows a larger print than 300- 360. Due to the neccesary interpolation at my print size (360dpi @ 9.5x14), the image at 360 dpi is actually worse. It's noticeably softer in the details. Good to know. 180-240 dpi it is. :D
