Hi all, I just got myself a Mac. I'm new to it after using PC all these years. Hope someone out there can help me on this matter. I tried installing FinePix Viewer v1.3(the cd came with my s2Pro) onto my mac....but it took so very long to install...seems like it hang somewhere...
Anyone experience this before? Thanx.

The load should be pretty straightforward, as it is with most Mac software. Make sure that you have nothing else running when you load, especially an anti virus software as this can conflict with a new software load. I know that there are some issues with OSX, I can't tell you what exactly as I run OS9.2.2. As I recall the Finepix software will not run on OSX, forcing you to run in classic mode. If I am wrong on that, someone please correct me.

I suggest a quick re read of the install instructions and try again.

I've just picked up my S2 and probably they've messed up a bunch of cd's, mine seems to keep hanging for ages.
Is there an alternative download site for finepix viewer ?
I hope so, because on fuji's site I could only find OS 9 version.
Good luck though.

Anthonie,

Unless I've missed something, I believe that an OS9 version is the latest that Fuji has. The finepix viewer won't work with OSX. (One of the reasons I am staying with OS9 for now)

Check with your customer support line.

I'm guessing you've missed something.

I've got a version 1.3 of FinePixViewer on the CD, the raw converter LE is for OS 9 only and windows off course.
As soon as I install, it keeps hanging there for hours, so their must be something wrong with it.

Better stay with OS9, the CD is made in HK and code is 'FZ31400-102"

I've ordered a new CD so when it works I'll post it.

Hi Anthonie, i've ben having the same problem as you. I called up fuji here and they said that the finepix viewer that comes with the s2 works only for mac os x v10.1.2 or was it v10.2.4
mine can't work as i'm using 10.2.6...

Is it me, or are these guys totally living in a time machine, we get updates for about everything each day and thank ......... for that, if we receive a sign of real life from fuji we'll probably explode or something.(from shear surprise)

Anyway my viewer is NOT working.

Why doesn't Fuji have these set up for download then?... I mean what's the big deal? It doesn't sound worth stealing!

I believe you will find what you are looking for here. (http://home.fujifilm.com/products/digital/download/index.html)

There is an updater here for the FinePix viewer for OS X. I hope it works for you!

The updater does the same as the ones that came on my disc. Stalls at the "processing updater" stage of the install.

I imagine others are having the same problem?....

I recently got iView MediaPro Ver 1.5.7
It lets you view and catalog raw files as well as TIFF's and JPEGS. Although it doesn't convert RAW to TIFF, at least you can view the rawfile in OS X, and with Fuji's viewer for OS X you can't view RAF files. It's fast and worth the $90, it also works like Portfolio and Cummulus both of which only run in classic.

Another thumbs up for iView. Read my Kodak RAWs as well. I use it to make customized HTML galleries for editing

It's just not right, we keep putting up 90$ here and 99$ there, only to get what we thought we paid for in the first place, really, I love the camera and the results, it's been an eye opener to me from the beginning, but to put up with this is still beyond me. But I'm a docile consumer and don't know where the fuji guy lives, so I'll wait it out, as the rest of us.
