View Full Version : EV default for Camera Raw 2.2??

I've just started shooting in RAW with my D70. When opening NEF files in Adobe Camera Raw 2.2, I invariably have to push the EV to +1.80 or +2.00 or even +2.40 just to get a decent exposure on the computer.

This seems odd to me. Or, perhaps I'm the odd one. I would have though that the camera default would be EV 0.00.

Am I doing something wrong? Is all this exposure correction needed or can it be preset to match the characteristics of the D70?

Thanks in advance. :help:

Have you tried to convert the RAF file with the Nikon convertor to see if the exposure is the same?

No, Andrew, I haven't tried Nikon's solution. Thought that Adobe would know the score. At your suggestion, I will see if there is a difference.

It's not a case of Adobe not knowing the score, it is just to see if it is the camera that is metering wrong. This way it will eliminate the camera if the Nikon Convertor does the job right, which means that there is a problem with the PSCS convertor.
