We use the Hyper utility for sorting because we can view two images side by side to compair one to the other. is there any other software out there that might work better for this? We start with 400 to 600 images and deleat down to 300 or so for a wedding album. The Hyper Utility has a few quirks that make it less than perfect for this. Thanks for any ideas.

I've been using ThumbsPlus for years ( www.cerious.com ) - mainly for cataloging, however, there are several features that I like - including 'side by side' comparision of pictures you select. It's not automatic, but all you have to do is select ( hold down ctl key) the pics you want to compare (can have multiple pics to compare, not just two), then press shift-F8 and the screen is filled with the pictures to compare. You can then zoom in/out and scroll and they will all 'move' the same. They have a free trial.

I recently got Portfolio 7 free from work. I like it, haven't used it too much. Catalogues the pics well,m different views, has all the shooting data, creates a database, etc etc,

The site to see it is: www.extensis.com

I don'tt think I would buy it for the price, I wouldn't get the use of it. But I got it free and from a small amount of use, I would say it is very good.

Cheers
