As requested, re-posted here ... read the following thread.
I suggested mailing the kitty (or perhaps something less fragile and lighter!) around the world and taking photos at famous landmarks - then posting the photos & dates here. Then there was talk of the calendar....!

This sounds like fun, gang. What are your ideas for a 'mascot' that can be mailed around the world, having it's photo taken at famous or not-so-famous places? Something that won't break would probably be a good idea. Hey, Swampy, can we get a sticky on this one?

That sounds like fun to me...Of course living close to St. Louis, I might be able to find a somewhat famous landmark to photograph with the "mascot".

Sounds like fun - and should kitty want to see the Canadian Parliament buildings one day, can be done, still have a Parliament Library Public Program access pass (that's a mouth full) which is good til the end of the year.
Cheers,

If it gets to me, depending on timing it could see Japan and maybe another county or two! Count me in!

Okay, since a breakable thingy might not be a good idea, how about a stuffed or wooden or? If anyone has something we can use, great. If not, I'll look for something in the stores. What should we use? Cat, dog, weird thing, angel? Probably something small so the shipping expense won't kill us to ship it around the globe. Maybe a stuffed lion named Leo? Not very original, I know. Or maybe a stuffed dog named 'Toto', as in the Wizard of Oz. We could title the thread 'Not In Kansas Anymore'! Unless of course Toto ends up in Kansas with Mel and Linda!
What do you think?

A Louie-Loueye has awakened from her nap and tells me she'd love to travel around the world but wouldn't be upset if someone else got to go. She also told me I was a moron for making such a big deal out of her picture. Smart kitty! ;)
Oh yes, her twin is available in a plastic-fantastic version. Let us know.....

Well Mike,
Whenever you ready, you can ship the Kitty to Canada. PM me for the address. We don't want the kitty to get lost in the snow later in the year so let's get started.

Your wish is my command Eddie.
I'll locate a larger plastic version today, take a Hawaii shot, start the thread and then send her off to you. (sent you a PM) This could become incredible especially after LL's accumulated a few battle scars and passport stamps along the way.

This sounds like it's going to one of the most fun projects we've done in awhile. I'm looking forward to LL!
Take good care of him.

I'm going to look for a stuffed dog, 'Toto', that we can use. Sound good? In fact, I'm sure my kids would loan us one of thiers. :)

sorry I dropped the ball on this. If you guys want to use another mascot that's fine with me. Put me on the list for Hawaii.....I'll take the little bugger surfing on Waikiki. :o

Actually, this is starting to resemble a Camel. You know what a Camel is don't you? It's a horse designed by committee...
The way this will start is someone, ANYONE, picks a mascot of their choice, shoots a pic and posts it here. The first post sets the game. I'll look for a plastic Louee-Louie today but they're mostly made in ceramic, bad for shipping round the world. That's one of the reasons I haven't followed through yet. I know they're out there, just haven't run across one. If someone beats me to the punch with something else, fine!!!
Ready....set......GO!

Tell you what - as I opened my big mouth at the start, I'll go and buy something "suitable" tomorrow and start the ball rolling. I have time on my hands at the moment.
Hula - PM me your address - it's heading your way....!

This is tougher than I thought - looked all over for something fairly small, light and amusing .... only found a bathtime duck so far!
