epson 2200 color managementCan anyone help me with setting up workable

Can anyone help me set up workable color management with a Epson 2200 printer and PhotoShop 6? I am confused. One works to get a great picture and find that when it is printed that is has no identity with the picture on the screen. I have read several, what appeared, well written articals with no great success. Any help?

start here. not sure how much you know about color management, but it is the key to the 2200. I use the included profiles for the Enhanced Matte, use the Matte Black ink, and with my color managed workflow I get very consistent, 90% accurate colors on my prints. Going the extra mile to hit 98% would mean investing in an Epson RIP software and in a Printer Custom Profile.
