Or anyone experienced with Photoshop...
I have a cd of digital backgrounds and I've been trying to put a picture of my granddaughter on one...the problem is, when I cut the image of her out and try to paste it with the background the sizes are way off...if I put her on the background she's way huge..if I try to put the background behind her I get a little bitty square of the background right in the middle...what do I need to do?
Thanks,
Alice

Each file has to be sized the same ppi. Change one or the other. Go: Image > Image Size > Resolution.

Mike, do you know of a good tute that will teach me step-by-step how to change a background from one image to another? My attempts leave a lot to be desired so far.

There are many there that are written simply and fairly easy to follow. I know the restore one has a great way for you to separate your forground.

Mainly, you must make sure the two images are close in size or that the smaller one is the size you want, making either bigger isn't always very successful.

Let me know how it goes!

If you increase the background to much the lack of detail will show. But if you have to do it increasing the size in 10% steps is better than making one big increase.

You can also change the size of a layer by pressing the layer and then "Ctrl-T" - and then drag with the mouse (while holding the shift-key down to keep the proportions.

Cheers,
