I'm running CS on a Mac and havent had that problem. Have you checked if its a memory problem. Have a look at you pref folder, maybe your Memory & Image Cache needs to be changed. I presume that you system ( Mac or PC) isnt running low on memory. Check your history, it might mean you need to clear your history..... can you give any other details?
Jason :)

There is another thread on this forum somewhere about problems with logitech mice so it sounds like it is yet another problem for the mice.

LiVe looks like if you go down to CompUSA or EggHead and get yourself a cheap microsoft compatible mouse then you can test cheaply.
Otherwise it may be a Windows rebuild. What a pain. I'm trying to restore my server after a sudden power failure caused a motherboard problem. Everything works fine except I cant get the network cards to work at all even a brand new one. GRRR...
Bryan any thoughts.
Win2K Advanced Server, 1GB RAM, 500GB disk, two Realtek NICs (brand new).
Even after a complete rebuild and every thing else working, it refuses to be seen or see other computers in my domain.
IP Config shows correct Internet gateway and IP addresses assigned to NICs but it refuses to connect to Internet or other computers. Ping timesout on gateway but a ping 129.0.0.1 is oK and IE works fine for accessing a server (self) hosted website. Very strange.
I'm off to buy a new motherboard to check out if there is some low level (N/S Bridge) fault.
I've never experienced anything like this in all my time in IT.

Are you setting the IP address manually or are you getting one via DHCP with no problems?

Manual set of IP address as it is a server I want to make sure that it is available via browser at a fixed IP.
I'm busy swapping out cards video, LAN to see if it is a driver issue with teh Motherboard. However I cant see why as it was working fine before the power failure, desparation leads you to do things taht may not be logically right. I guess I should just blow away the motherboard and go for a nice new one....
Bryan, did you find a twin CPU non Xenon MB ?

yes and no. I decided against doing the dual processor as I'd want to spring for Intel's and dual Hyperthreading processors, so I'd have to pop for a 4 processor supporting OS to really do it. Cost on everything was a little prohibitive, so I decided back in December to just go with a 3.2 HT Intel processor with 2 gigs of 800mhz ram. Works ok with the two striped 10krpm SATA drives and a single 7200 rpm SATA for data.
As for your problem, one thing I'd do is make sure your DHCP Server is running right and set your net card to DHCP for testing purposes. If it can't contact the DHCP Server to get an IP, then it certainly won't get out using a static in most cases. Also try to remember to use a different port on your switch for giggles. I've seen ports go out in power spikes.
You shouldn't have to do anything with the OS, as, like you said, it worked before the power surge. As a last ditch resort, after going DHCP, replacing the cable and using a different port on the switch (or testing that port with another PC anyway), I'd replace the video card. The Motherboard, unfortunately could be your trouble too, blowing out the PCI slots or something. It's a tough process, but leave your OS alone! :)
