Hi folks, more advice please. I've been asked to take team photos of kids at a 6-a-side tournament at the weekend. I'll be using the S2/SB80 combo as fill flash is required - i've considered using the Auto setting on the SB80 with the aperture 1/2 stops below the lens. Anyone got a better idea ? Would TTL with 1.7 stops compensation be better?

burnie,

As you know, fill flash with the S2 can be a problem due to the flash sync being max at 1/125th sec. Suggest you go to manual on the camera and put the flash on auto.

Run some tests and find the right combination for your application.

I'm with burnie, we use manual on the camera and our Metz on TTL. We set the camera at 5.6 to start and adjust from there if needed. We also set the camera compensation up to +1 if needed to brighten a shot. We also indoors always use ISO400 on the camera for a brighter background. At ISO 400 you can still make enlargments with little or no noise.
