I just picked up a pack of this (13x19 Luster) and have to say it seems like a nice paper. It is not as heavy as the Ilford Smooth Pearl that I mostly use but seems to have a similar texture. It has the "Kodak Professional" logo stamped on the back, that gives it a nice pro look. My problem is, I can't get the downloaded profile in the print space. Before, when I download profiles, they go directly into the print space. Any ideas why this will not load?

NO idea why it won't load, but I hope you have better luck with it than I did. I can't remember the exact name of the Kodak 8.5x11 paper I bought, but it was one of their better papers, and it didn't do well on my 2200 or a canon s820.

In retrospect I think that if I had increased the 'drying time' it may have helped as the rollers were leaving tracks on the paper.

Just a heads up for you. Good luck!

Thanks Rich,

I used the Epson Luster profile, but not very happy with results. The color was off a little and it seemed as if the ink did not cover well. The paper has potential, but needs its own profile.

Did you use the ICC profile from the Kodak website?

I've used the Kodak Professional lustre and glossy ( w/ Windows) on my epson 2200 and they look great. With the Kodak Professional watermark on the back, they look like lab prints. The lustre matches the lab prints exactly and can be mixed in and nobody knows it's inkjet.

Roxie,

I couldn't get the profile loaded on my Mac. But, yes I agree, the paper looks wonderfully professional. I did get O.K. prints from it, but get much better results from Ilford smooth pearl.

Carlton,
Did you try just putting the profile in your ColorSync folder? Worked for me. Looks like the profile has a nice wide gamet and very yellow friendly. My tech rep gave me a couple of packs of 81/2x11 but I haven't printed any yet. I want to profile it myself with my EyeOne. It does look and feel nice. Mostly I like the Kodak on the back.

Rich,
I hope you are getting it confused with Kodak's older photo paper. That stuff sucked. This paper has only been out since August.

My post is dated in July, so I'm guessing you're right about my experience being with the old paper.

I'm pretty happy with Epson stuff, and I have a local source for Epson Ink now think4inc.com .

Crabby,
I did try, but maybe I was going the wrong direction. How do you do this?
Most profiles I have ever loaded have gone auto.

Just drop the icc profile into your Colorsync Profiles folder within your System Folder then relaunch Photoshop.

Thanks, I will give another try. It really seems like a nice paper, although more expensive than the Ilford.

I just tried printing with it last night with the canned profile. The look and feel and the color gamet of the paper is nice, but it comes out way darker then my monitor. I'll try it again after I get it profiled.
