...when one starts a new thread, it seems that the title of the post is IDEPENDANT from the -same- title wich the thread took !
Trying to explain better: I wanted to change the name of the THREAD, so I wedited my message, changed the title and submitted it: the "post" title had changed name, but the "thread" stayed as it was !!!
Is there a way to actually change ALSO the thread's title ?
TIA...

It doesn't look like vBulletin allows a user to change a thread name.

Jean-Pierre,

even a Mod or a Supermod can't do it. This is a exclusive function for Admins as far as I know in VBulletin.

There is a way for you to change the Title to a thread. Delete the thread and re-do it. :D

Other than that, Administrators are the only ones I think that can change a thread name. Sorry.
