Hi Wilm and all
heres todays effort using the Wilm recipe.
By lighten the channels do you mean make them look darker as they are negs?
This is with the 87 filter.
4 sec at f4
I cant get the blue sky like yours Wilm.
Im happy with the result all in all.
All comments pro and con appreciated. :flame:

Hey Doug !
Great result and especially a very good composition
My results from the last weekend are very similar, no chance to get some blue sky. I think it depends very much on the angle of the sun. As higher as better. So, as far I understood you have spring down there ? So your time for better photos will come when mine went away.
This weekend the weather over here might be quite better ( after weeks of rain ). I will try some series with different angles towards the sun. But I donīt have a clue what the results would be
BTW: Did you have made a whitepoint-adjustment at green gras ? Green is in infrared white, so it might help.

(Away from the internet a least for the next 2 days. Business-trip - grrrrr )

Hi Wilm
THX! for your tutilage and encouraging words.
We are mid winter so the sun is low on the horizon at mid day.
I used auto levels as I dont have auto color in PS6.
It brings my image closer to the desired end result then I play with the sliders in color blance to make the final tones of the image, as opposed to setting a white point.
Ill pursue the white point method!
Were looking at a week of rain so more images may take some time.

Doug,
similar issue over here ! WX-forecast promised 28° C but many thunderstorms and a complete overcast weekend.
I think my IR-filter was the wrong investment for this year !

Just saw this mate, ultra KewL :righton:
I have some of Milford Sound on the real stuff, Ektachrome IR with color polarisers, ever tried that combo?

Thanks you muchly, Jonathan.
Serge, good buddy, Ive never even seen a coloured polarizer.
Shooting commercially I have enuf problems getting correct colour!
Milford Sound would be wild on colour infrared.
See if you can drag some of your old images out , if you can spare the time.
Time for a :guzzle:

.... Mate!
for vibrant analog color, especially projected, you can't beat IR on color pols! although scans rarely do it justice, I'll see what I can do. As for commercial work, if ever you shoot on film, these filters can really enhance industrial plant shots and architectural subjects, as well as for pure, non applied experimental.
I haven't played much with custom WB settings on the S2 yet, must get my head around it though, as I want to experiment with color pols on digital.

P.S. checked out your coastguard site, nice job!
