Hello,
I know I read something about some s2 being recalled with certain serial numbers. I can't seem to find the link, could anyone let me know where to look to see if my camera might be one of them:confused:

Could it be that you own a North American verson? From the profile, you are in Canada. If you have a North American version, you should check FUJI Canada website for the defected lists.
My camera is a Canadian version and my camera is one of the possible defected. However, I have not seen the problem yet on this camera.

so far Fuji Singapore also recall
Between serial numbers 24L01601 and 24L01604
Between serial numbers 24L01617 and 24L01620
Between serial numbers 24L01625 and 24L01636
Between serial numbers 24L01641 and 24L01670
the sympton was
When the batteries are replaced, the settings change, erroneous messages appear on the rear and top display panels, or in the worst cases, "Err" appears in the optical finder and on the top display panel, and the camera becomes inoperable.

I just hit the jackpot with my US camera serial number. I haven't had a problem, but off it goes via express for repair or replacement. I wouldn't mind getting a newer body as some people who've done the return have.

I called Fuji USA on my Canadian S2 (North American Version) and they said to send it in. I sent it over night thursday and a new one will be in the mail today (they were closed for Good Friday.) One thing you need to be sure of is to mark the outside of the box "Attn: Camera Repair - S2 Pro". If you do not mark it, the box will be treated like any other consumer camera and it will delay your service. They were very professional in their treatment and understood my concern about being without (I have a wedding to shoot this weekend.) Overall I am extremely pleased with their service.
