Nice shot. Pity the front of the flower is OOF.

Yep ! just cought that one today with the Tamron:
1:125 @ f:16 with on-board flash - ISO 100 - std/org/off
...but mind you, just before, I shot that same flower with the Sigma 50-500 at 200mm., 1:125 @ f:13 with on-board flash - ISO 200 - std/org/off
The first pic is with the Tamron and the second with the Sigma ! Although the later is not as sharp as the Tamron, it does a hell of a good job, doesn't it ?

Bee's dont stay still long. This macro thing is harder than it looks! I'm glad now that the lens is so light. In practice you often have to hold leaves or branches out of the way with one hand, leaving only 1 hand for Camera. Viva 1/500 second flash sync!!!

I'm loving this lens, the contrast is excellent. Im wondering how much better it is than the previous non-Di model ?

Hi Daniel ! I would be interested to se the actual differnce between the "old" SP90 and the new SP90 DI lens !
I an using the "old" version for a year now, and loving it ! After quite a few try with other "macro" lens, like th 105 Nikkort an Sigma, I still like this one more...
If ever you can check both lens, I'd be VERY interested to see the difference -if there is one, other than purely marketing !?!- !!!

btw rather than turn on focus limiter, id rather turn CSM 7 to On (enabled)
i had also problem with OOF experience as your first pic...and btw,
turn CSM 7 to on, eliminate this..
u mention 1/500 flash sync ? what kind a flash did u use?
best regards,
dartz
nb: JPS..u never stop making me saying "wow" with your pic... ;) ;) ;)

Here's a few shots from a Tam 90SP AF macro that isn't a 'di' .
These are my first few (virgin) shots with this used lens. I like it! The first is a full frame resized with a 1:1 crop after it. The third is a 1:1 crop of a spider shot. The camera was set to std-std-hrd (forgot to change the sharpness to off).

here's a couple 1:1 crops from using ACR2 up to the 6MP size. The first was 1/10 ISO100 on a tripod, the second was 1/500 handheld (also 100). Boo is a tricky subject to expose for.
