Hi

I have recently upgraded my S1 to an S2 and I am very diappointed with the sharpness of my images. This problem doesn't seem to occur all the time. I shot some automatic barriers to a car park and they were incredibly sharp and yet a portrait I shot outdoors was less than sharp.

I have spoken to Fuji Technical and they say that they researched Pro users like myself and the response was that the S1 was too sharp and that is why the S2 is not as sharp. The way to get around the problem is to shoot using the HARD setting and to add 150% 2 & 2 USM in PS. I think that this is unacceptable and that if something isn't broken (i.e. the S1) why try and fix it?

I welcome your thoughts and comments?

Cheers

Hi David,
I had it for a few months and I am suspicious about the sharpness of the images I shot. I had a D 100 before and it seems much sharper.
Did you already solve the problem?
Best,

Hi Uudam

I am pleased to say that I no-longer have a problem. In the end after Fuji had attempted to fix the problem I persuaded them to exchange the camera for a brand new one. The old one was most deffinitely faulty and I got more than a little fed up with Fuji and others suggesting it was a user problem and telling me to use lots of unsharp mask in photoshop. I now shoot on Hard occasionally and when I do I rarely use USM!

I hope this helps you.

Cheers

David

I am a photographer and I bye 1 month ago a S2 Pro fuji SLR.(Its my 4th Fuji Camera) I am specialist in close up photos . I have a serious problem with close up photos that i can describe as “focusing confusion” with my words … When I take a close up photo my S2 pro its not a S2 pro … and the quality its not a fuji quality…
I use the XR Di 28-75 Tamron and SP 90 Di Tamron Lens. Of course with many different shutter speeds etc…
Please answer me A.S.A.P. about my problem…
