Since no person has posted here yet I thought I'd give it a start.
Has anyone else had interest in or tried the SLR/n?
It really is a remarkable camera. REALLY it is. I love mine.
Just curious.

I would be very interested, Bruce. I'm currently shooting a project that requires 400ISO and is in very low light. How would the Kodak perform there?

yeah if you search for it, there is a thread on here when I had one for a few weeks. I still wouldn't go much past 400 but, in studio with flash, very sweet. I was skeptical when I got it, cuz I also demo'ed the 14n but I think they've come a long way with this camera.
My nose even kinda changed shape to accommodate the lousy viewfinder set up
If you wnat a RAW file from my shoot at 400 or 1600 let me know,we'll maybe try and set it up for download.

Ian - I'm on the waiting list to get a 14n upgraded to the new sensor, firmware, wireless and memory. I'm curious to see if the 14n will be exacly like a slr/n performancewise. But, the waiting list has be back into August before I can even send it in. :|

Swampy,
After doing so many tests with S2/D70 compo, it should be interesting to do another one with the 14n, just to compare these three cameras at 6mp.
I've heard that Kodak is unbeatable in studio, but not so good outdoor performer in terms of color.
Thanks for spending so much time to do the S2/D70 tests.

It will be difficult to compare fairly really since the 14n is native 14mp. Shooting at 6 (if that's a particular setting) would degrade the picture I would think.

I would be interested to get hold of some DCR files from the new ProSLR/n as teh reulsts I got from the rental Pro14n were Ok but had a lot of problems with shadow detail in hair and also some chromatic aberation around highlight areas.
Ianmcc, any chance of you setting up a place where we could download ? Thanks.

Gonna give it a try posting a SLR/n pic and see if it will look any better than the last.

Don't suppose you could post about 600 or so pixels wide and 4 or 500 pixels tall - a full res from that one as well, could you? Try and include a dark and light area if you could too.
Looks like a good shot, but at that size, it's hard to tell.

There it is a bit larger but it really lacks the sharpness, color and pizaaz of the print. sigh

Here in OZ the 14n is almost the same price as the D2H... damn it nice body versus 14 megapixels. Now if only we knew what the D2X was going to be.

The 14n upgrade unfortunately doesn't improve the power consumption, that's significantly improved on the SLR/n.

True dat! The battery life is MUCH better on the SLR/n. I just wish they hadn't cheaped out on the AC adapter/ charger set up. You can't charge the batteries while using AC. The demo I had had two batteries so you just keep swapping. Similar to what i do with the S2, the battery dies at the worst time.. oh well.
