Well .... here's the hardware and question for who ever wants to post a possible setting to try:

S2 Pro using a Metz 54MZ-4

What setting should I use to shoot night time American high school football games? Last year I shot the entire season without ANY flash and really got so great pictures. Now I think I should try using a flash IF, that would give me a better picture then not using one.

Any comments are welcomed and would be tested on other night sports as I await the football season to begin.
Thanks for the input guys!

Problem with flash... They have to be close. I think the guide on that flash is around 110 feet? That's full power mind you. You better get an external pack for that thing as you'll be waiting in between shots for a recharge.

Another possible problem with flash is that you'll light someone up close and everything behind will be black or very dark. Sometimes a favorable condition, but in your case, I'd think not.

Yes!

Im having these days the problem that swampy said.

Im using for a Bank Conference two flashes , one sb28 and one sb11 with the measurement unit su-2, and im having this problem that if any object apear closer to the flash or betwen the main object to shoot and the flash , the flash goes to measure its time to light this object and the main object is going darker.

I try a simple methode using both flashes simultaneosly , so i connect the SB-11 on the body with a cable , and the SB28 on the top of my camera, with the sb28 seting on TTL mode with a little compensation of light to +0.3 im trying to light the main object ( final object to shoot) and with the Sb11 rotating his head UP at around 75 -80 degrees im taking good result on lighting all around.

I try both flashes on the object direction, setting the sb11 at full power manual 1/1 and the sb28 at auto mode and ias a result... a big light on all objects, i dont know, perhaps u need to try this methode shooting with two flashes on the same direction.
