Hi,

I am looking for a small photo printer to make 4x6 prints. Has anyone tried Finepix NX-500? It seems to be relatively new, and I couldn't find a review on it. The thermo-autochrome technology seems to mimic the traditional printing method since it requires no inks and ribbons (and I like this!). I was wondering how it is compared with the dye-sublimation printers in terms of print quality and cost. Thank you for your help.

Jao :)

Jao :)

I had the same problem like you, and I compared it with the HiTi Umax 630 PS (the PL is the same, just without the Slots and the Remote Control).

Result: I selected the Hiti, because in my personal view the quality was better - especially when you think about the life-time of the picture. Also the "Look&Feel" of the prints are nearer to the "real" Photo. The prices are nearly the same, so the best would be if you print out one picture on both printers.

The decide yourself ;-)
