I like it too Andre, anyone with wrinkles has stories to share :)

Yeah I think that's it, your picture makes me wonder who he is, what he's thinking, where he's been and what he's done.
If he's anything like my husband who has just as many wrinkles LOL, it would be great to see that same guy smile, betcha his face lights up! Guess I'm partial to wrinkles :)

Very strong image; good tonality IMHO too. Having him looking down and not making eye contact with the camera sets an quite intriguing slightly sad mood - like it a lot :righton:

Andre, I like it quite a bit. I tend to like shots that reveal a little bit about us as humans. And growing old and weathered is certainly part of what it is to be human. Makes you wonder about his life, about what he's been through to arrive at that weathered look and that expression.
I might have found the hint of color a little distracting at first, but that's probably because I'm a photographer and it made me wonder for a second if it was B&W or not.
Incidentally, what lens did you use for this shot?

Love the shot. I would like to take a picture like that of an elderly Native American. I think they are absolutely gorgeous faces.

Thanks all.
The shot was with the 24-120VR (@120). F/5.6 1/250.
I left the trace of color in because i thought it helped to divide up the picture between the three areas that I saw - the hat, the face/skin, and the backdrop - which I thought was important to divide up.

That's a great shot; it reminds me of my early memories of my grandfather, and I think that portraiture like this is almost a subliminal link to memories we all have. Wish I had more experience with portraits; I need to watch your stuff closely!

I agree with the others ... strong photo - a lot of 'character' displayed in this one. Nice.

Excellent Shot Andre, I am really impressed with this one. I think you really captured a shot that evokes emotion in anyone that look at it. The framing of the shot with the harsh shadows fit perfectly. Outstanding ,one of your best IMO.

Thanks Ron & Dave.
Actually, he doesn't smoke. I think he likes a bit of chewing tobacco now and then though.

That's very nice of you Ron. It is very encouraging to get comments like that.
Mike, what I meant was just because I like it doesn't mean others will (but I might still like it).
