Hi all,

I tried my IBM card when I got the camera yesterday and I also tried a 1GB Sandisk cfc card from B&H in New York. My test was a simple real world test, shoot continuously in RAW mode until the buffer is full and then see how long it takes for the buffer to fully empty.

Microdrive was 45 seconds.....

Sandisk was twice as slow at 90 seconds...

Same photos, same time, both cards new freshly formatted and empty beforehand.

Also the Sandisk was 30 dollars more...!!!!

hope this helps your buying

Thats exactly why i posted , because if you look at ALL rob's cards, it doesn't mention this one.

Also if you go to B&H they are pushing this one right now, so....

....now you know. Unless you hate Microdrives and keep breaking them, don't buy the SAn Disk 1Gb card.

Anyone got any other data on cards NOT on rob's site...?

There are many factors in the speed of your CF card:

1. Memory used (mostly Samsung, Hitachi, Toshiba)

2. CF controller

3. Buffer

4. Number of chips (a 1 GB card usually has 4 256MB chips).

I'm using two Transcend 512 MB cards and they are very fast (I mostly shoot 6 Mp Fine Jpeg). Got them at €120 each
