Hi There
I am based in Toronto and I am looking for insurance for my photo equipment. My homeowners policy will cover me if the equipment is NOT used for professional use, however, that is no longer the case.
I was wondering where my fellow "pro" Canucks get their insurance from?
Thanks!

Just sent you a PM with info.
For the rest of the Canuck gang, you can try;
Harrison and Son Insurance
Mark Harrison
905 764-6264
They don't cover BC or Quebec, due to different provincial regulations.

Do they only cover equipment, or also offer liability insurance? I'm looking into getting some type of insurance myself, but for some reason canadian insurance companies seem to be prohibitively expensive.
Cheers,
Chris

Chris,
Yes they have liability and all of the other things that self employed people want. It's a true photographer's policy. As far as cost goes, well you get what you pay for, it isn't the cheapest, but it is a fair business expense. They used to be the insurer of choice for CAPIC and many CAPIC members (like myself) still use them.
