Hi all

Just a post to let you know about my battery longevitiy.

Fresh charged set of 2000 nimh plus new cr123's

Shot wedding saturday 240 pics
2 model portfolio's 400 pics
60 raw test shots in studio

Batteries as of today still going strong
shooting at 6mp fine using 256mb lexar card.

I think the power savings from using a m/drive seem considerable.

Question to those using the mb16 battery grip, has this given any increases in shots per charge, any quantitive results out there, as I am thinking of buying one.

Best regards

Nick

Nick,

Thanks for the quantitive test and results.

What caught my eye is that you said your batteries were still going strong. They do that, right up to the end. Shooting fine one frame (or 600th), then Err, or the camera shuts down, or the image won't write, or you can't "play" etc.

In my experience, the battery level indicators demonstrate that the battery had enough power to run the battery level indicator, and very little with how much power truly remains.

Get your point what I should have said is the camera at ther moment is still operational. I will let you know when it finally dies,
at the moment I have had them in for 6 days.

Hello Nick,

I used the MB-16, and the battery-lifetime of the 4 NiMh in the MB-16 is much lower than with the CR 123 (let's say about 50%).

That's also the cause why I came back to use the CR's - that also improved the handling of the S2. My Result: I like it how it is (even if I have hands like a lumberjack :-)
