Hi, bit of flash advice please. How do you chaps do fill flash on bright days using the S2 and a Metz 45cl4 with the SCA adaptor ? Do you alter the ISO dial on the flash ? Use TTL or auto ?

Hi There,
I am not totally sure but I would imagine that you need to use the S2 to adjust the flash by setting the flash output to 2–3 stops under exposure (flash compensation).
The use of TTL by a flash gun means that the camera controls the flash not the gun so whatever you set the gun to doesn't matter.
I may be wrong that that is what I have been led to believe.

First thing I would do, especially if it is sunny outside, is get under a large shaded area. Second, I would adjust the ISO speed to ISO 100. Third, I would adjust the output of the flash to maybe 1/8 to 1/4 power. Lastly, I would set the camera settings to manual and shoot wide open on the lens at 1/125th sec.
Good luck!

Hi burny,
work in manual on the camera, say an aperture of F11 @ 1/125 @ ISO 200
Make sure flash gun is set to ISO 200 then set flash to auto and set a aperture on the flash gun to F8 for 1 stop fill F5.6 for 2 Stop fill or for a slight highlight in the eye F4 or F2.8
When i used these guns shooting film i always shot @ 2 Stops under for fill flash.
It works a treat, although i still own a couple of 45 CL-4's i do not use them with the S2 but i use the same technique with the S2 and SB80DX combination
