Have had my S2 for awhile, and just now noticing a problem. About every second or third shot will be severely underexposed. Then problem will disappear for awhile.

This appears to be in studio lighting only. Strobes attached via snyc cord. Using camera in manual mode. 60@F5.6 or so. If pics were way too dark I would think it was a missfire of strobes. But not that far off. Say one maybe two stops.

Thought it might be the lense, but have had problem with two lenses.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks

Datadr,

It can be your flash (power pack or head). I assume you are waiting for your flash to completely recycle between exposures, otherwise - there's your problem.

I had a lens with a sticky diaphram, but it caused overexposure because the problem was the lens wouldn't stop down consistently during the exposure. I sent the lens in and it was fixed.

If the camera is messing up, I can't imagine why it would do it only with studio strobes. I would think a faulty camera would take faulty images under many different conditions.

I have just bought a S2 as a replacement for the S1. I have run a series of test photos. I seem to be getting consistent exposure of between 1 - 1.5 stops running from 100asa to 1600asa in all modes and all metering systems apart form when using my SB24. Okay I can compensate for this in camera. but this is a frustration from the camera. I have not had tghis problem with the S1 or my F100. Any suggestions or help or similar experiences:(
