I've taken nearly 4000 shots with my S2 the majority of which were in dusty conditons since I mainly photograph 4x4 truck action in the desert.

I have had what I would consider to be a lot of dust for a couple months now. I couldn't find the "Sensor Swabs" locally so I used the "Speck Grabber" which was available at all the local shops.

I found the Speck Grabber very difficult to use since you first had to see the dust on the sensor. I quickly learned that what looks like a huge dust spot on a hi-res image is BARELY visible with the naked eye on the sensor.

I was able to grab a couple spots where the dust was easily visible, but I still had a lot left. I finally ordered the Sensor Swabs (12 for $48:( ) and the fluid to go with them. It took 3 swabs using each side once as the manual suggests to remove all, but two dust specks. I'm quite pleased with the results, but of course I wish I could have removed everything. I have looked at the sensor with a halogen desk lamp shining into the chamber and still couldn't see the remaining particles.

Anyway, at least I know the Sensor Swabs work very well and I don't have to be nearly as "afraid" to change my lenses anymore since I know I can successfully remove the vast majority of dust by myself.
