Hi Sandman.
I can just imagine what the man is thinking (has the vulture been fed or not......).
I think that in B/W the more eeire/gothic side of the vulture comes accross.
I am sure the vulture is not evil....
The impact of this B/W shot is better then if it was in colour.

I like the shot, Brian. If you check the Histogram, you'll see there's really nothing to the right. If you bring the slider over to where just a little detail starts, you can certainly increase the DR of the image. Of course you know this, but, certainly, we sometime forget to check everything. Or maybe you like it this way. Just thinking out loud.

Thanks Mike
Yes i did get the histogram levels right on the original , but after 'saving for web' i mucked about a bit and must have re-darkened it (is there such a word?). but you're right we do take so much for granted , we overlook the obvious .

Hi Brian,
It looks just fine on my screen, that is one sharp looking beak on that bird...one question though, why does the trainer have his eyes closed? :righton:

Brian,

You're turning into a regular ornthologist!
- and trying to be Cartier-Bresson or Doisneau, you certainly clicked the shutter at the right moment and caught the poor trainer's petrified expression!

Cheers, Robin

What a riot! And good images, too!

I tried this a few years ago but wanted to catch one in flight. It wasn't until AFTER the day someone gave me the hint that I should stand with the trainer, that's where it'll fly back to. I was trying to find where the mouse/rabbit was so I could get an image as it swoope down on the poor creature. I'm not that fast.
