Your attempt at black and white was successful!
I like black and white images for many reasons, and am facinated by images that look better in b&w than color.
Please share a little technical detail with us: Did you shoot this as B&W in your camera, or did you convert an RGB image to B&W in Photoshop? If you did it in Photoshop, which of the several methods of conversion did you use?

Hi Tom
Thanks for the feedback. The details are, speed 1/10. f5.6 iso 200 28-85 mm Nikon. Since I had no tripod with me, I had to improvised and placed the flash bottom bracket on the camera with the other end of it on my left shoulder. The shoulder pushed forward slightly, this help to stabilise the camera slightly for the slow shutter speed.
The image was then converted to b/w in PS7 using 'Channel mixer', making sure that the total values added to 100. Then identifying parts of the picture that needs tweaking, used the lasso tool with the feather set to 50 and selected the parts to be adjusted.
Adjustment was made using the 'level' tool. As to how much to move the adjustment point on the 'level' bar, I'm afraid I went on a feeling type of adjustement. That is I adjusted till I feel that it's right. Sorry about that part.
I hope that helps.
Regards
