I just bought a S2 and a 17-35mm nikkor AF-S, i'm now looking for a good macro to go with it, and possible a 28-70mm nikkor, got any suggections for a top of the line macro?

What a nice lens. Sharp, sharp, sharp. And the focal length makes it ideal for portraits on an S2.

Another macro to consider is the Tamron 90mm, which has received many positive reviews...

I must second the Tamron 90mm not only is it a superb macro, but also makes great portraits and scenics, which is not common in a macro. A lens for all types of photography.
I should point out though that my Tamron is not the latest type, but it does have the same optics as the new model, so should give the same high performance.
