Hi All,
I'm deciding between the S2 and the D100 and I'm pretty sure I'm getting the S2. After reading the threads in this forum, I'm a little concerned about OSX and the S2. I am not a professional and will probably shoot primarily in jpeg. Will I be able to import the images from the S2 into iphoto in OSX? Or will I need to launch the converter software that is being discussed in this forum?

Thanks and look forward to entering the fray when I get my S2!

I think I can help you on several of your concerns. First, (my opinion), go with the S2 over the D100. I bought a D100 as soon as it was available, got the recent firmware update and still was never truly happy with the white-balancing or tendency to under expose. I thought it was just me, but that's where these forums can really help. You'll find plenty of opinions, but I find that my newly purchased (after selling the D100) S2 captures and records more accurately with less post-capture manipulating required. I just plugged it in to the computer for the first time (via firewire) and iPhoto opened up and was ready to import my images...just like it's supposed to. Also, many professionals (especially wedding photographers, where the largest prints ordered often don't go over 10x10") do shoot in JPG mode.
Hope I helped.:)
