Hello,
I'm going to buy a S2 and I'm wondering if I can use it under light rain or inside a small boat. Do you have any experience?
Thanx.

I wouldn't do it. I'm sure if you wanted to you could add some protection to the camera body, like a plastic bag or something.
A better choice would be to get a camera with a body designed for this type of environment, like a Canon 1D/s, Nikon D1x or some type of waterproof enclosure. They have a new one of those for the D100. You could find that in Dpreview in the News archive. It was announced there a couple weeks ago. It's called the Seahawk, I think.

Matt

I wouldn't do it without sheltering the camera either. I shot in Zion canyon under an umbrella, a little errant rain didn't cause any problems but I wouldn't let the controls get wet enough to allow water to wick into the camera or between the lens mount surfaces. I keep a small synthetic chamois cloth to wipe down the camera if necessary.

This body is not made for the elements and I recommend if you don't have a housing, get a large locking bag and rig something up.

Absolute S2 don't like rain...humide moist rain at all.i found cheap
& easy... lens must be "IF" internal focus...cover lens &body with
plastic bag ,cut the hole enough for the lens stick out, wrap a rubber band...then you can shoot...
