I hope this one is tame in comparison to yours. Just wanted to get the ball rolling...or the needle hopping as it were.

I am fascinated-read that uncomprehending-with tattoos. How does one decide what they're going to have on their bodies for the rest of their lives? I like change too much! Plus, the longevity of the colors is much shorter than the skin!
Here's my capture of a bad boy.

I photographed tatoos for some artists for a number of years, all under a contract where the subject got the negatives ( a privacy thing at the time ). I still have a few in storage perhaps. I'll look and see. My favorite (I'll admit it) was "Muff, the magic dragon"!

Not this particular tatoo! It was of a dragon but the term "muff" is an American slang for a particular part of the female body and that is where the dragon "lived". The lady with the tatoo said "It really didn't hurt that much to have it done and the reactions from people was worth it".
Dale
"Puff" is a great song, too!

Here's mine. It's a self portrait, so I don't have to worry about still liking it in 20 years. I'll always love myself!:)
Eddie
p.s. Brian, your neice-in-law is lovely - she looks like Kym out of Hear'Say:)

Went down to her elbow. There are many people in Hawaii with tatoos. Many locals have the traditional black only type that are made using a sharp bamboo needle that's dipped into ink and hand hammered into the skin. Ouch!
The only tatoo I ever wanted on my body would be a dotted line an half scissors (like the classic "cut this coupon out" image.) I have two partially webbed toes on each foot where I would like this done. Nenderthal Mike!

Eddie,
Love your tatoo. Did you design it? Is that a dive mask on your face or just a stylized head? Very cool actually.

"Love your tattoo......Is that a dive mask...?"
Thanks Mike. Actually the image is a photograph - Toyo 45c, 1000W tungsten lighting from one side, kodak ortho film, 150mm lens (front and rear standards about 50mm apart, throwing focus out by miles and causing the cool shapes) and some secret darkroom magic. This was before I even owned a computer! Perhaps this should be moved elsewhere because it's a nude self-portrait:D

hi Brian,
I'll give it a try.
1st one is a Chinese character that means "feminine" or along that line.
2nd and 3rd are Arabic. i think they are "David" and "Emily" .
then again, i could be completely wrong, as all characters are from hand written originals.
