Unfortunately not (legally).

Adobe's website states "Upgrade does not apply to Photoshop Elements, Photoshop Album, Photoshop Limited Edition, or PhotoDeluxe licensed users".

If you have PS 7 the upgrade should work. (I upgraded from PS6)

Yes, I should have said "Unfortunately not (legally) if you want to upgrade LE".

Hi there

If you have a legal copy with S/N of PS Elements, you can BUY a full version of PS CS for $299.00

Here is the link:

http://www.adobe.com/store/products/special.jhtml?id=catMicrotek&sourcecode=112300

BTW, I know the site says to use your PS Elements Serial Number included with a "Microtek" scanner, however, I just used the PS Elements S/N I got with my S2 Pro and it worked fine.

Offer expires June 30, 2004.

I don't recall the ending date, perhaps March 31, but I got a free upgrade CS from my recent purchase of 7.0. I'll try to find the info but I'm sure I got it from the Adobe Community Forum site.

Just called the number, faxed my receipt, paid $14.00 priority air and got it just fine.

I've just rung Adobe U.K about this CS offer (350 dollars off) - apparently doesn't apply to Britain !! Not 100% sure the chap was totally accurate or even knew about it but that's what he said. At 350 dollars off and given todays exchange rate, the software would be £163 + VAT & post. Bit better than £600 !! Might well import it I think.

....further to the last - just noticed that the Adobe shop doesn't trade with the U.K ! Are we stitched up here or what !

This is the route I took, the only thing is that Adobe US will not ship to a UK address, I had to ship it to my uncle in Ontario and then get him to ship it to me. Even with pay import duties into Canada and UK it cost me £200 vice the £550 it would have cost if I did the upgrade here.

The activation works, if they try to tell you it won't. What won't work is the help line in the UK with your serial number, you have to call the US helpline. Hey, I am not planning on spending £350 on phonecalls to the US!

Good luck with finding someone to send it to, to send to you!

Adobe UK offer deals for the upgrade from Elements to full Photoshop.
I did mine 2 years ago and the upgrade from Elements v1 to PS v7 cost me £350.

My last upgrade from PS7.1 to CS cost me £156 plus th efact that I had bout the ACR v1 . I think that they should have offered a discount for those with ACR v1, but none was available.

I am starting to have a lot of second thoughts about getting CS. The fact that they stick something in your computer with this activation stuff is kinda bothering me. I spend so much stuff with getting rid of spyware out of my puter with search and destroy , and went to the point of installing a browser like mozilla to protect myself from the internet. I just don't like the fact of activation, spying etc...bad enough with microsoft doing it. I understand the rational about piracy but this occurs to a much more wider extent overseas than here in the US. I understand MACs don't have this problem. As many times as I have configuration change in my system I could see where my only image editing program just doesn't work especially if I have my laptop out on the field and no access to the internet or the phone.
