Oh dear :-(

Gary says Image rescue is the popular one - he's just doing a search for it...

Photo Rescue (www.datarescue.com/photorescue) looks worth a look - it appears to let you download and try it to make sure it will download what you want.

(we are working on hearsay and haven't actually tried either of these ourselves).

Cheers Ross, I wait with baited breath, Down at the cottage for a few days and had almost filled a MD on a family of siskins, coal tits, robins & a snowdrop setup for my previous thread, 'Lonely snowdrop & no buzzards'. In haste to post the snowdrop setup I accidentally deleted the images, instead of draging them over to the laptop, what a plonker :o

Do not use the MD till you recover the files. Do not use the MD till you recover the files. I use Photo Recovery from http://www.lc-tech.com. You can download a demo program that will read the disk and tell you what can be recovered. If you find your files then you go to the web site and pay for the program key which will allow the program to save the files it has found. It is all very easy to do. It is always best to have somebody with experience do the recovery. I bought this program before I needed it and practiced on files that were already downloaded and erased. The practice will give you confidence and educate you on what the program will do.

Good Luck!

Many thanks guys, Ross & Gary, Wayne & Brian.
Have downloaded the trial version, & run it, but it does not seem to recognise the MD or CF slot in the laptop I wonder if it is because it is a PCMCI card thingy with a CF type 2 PC adapter card that I put my CF/MD in to download my images? I have phoned a friend in the next village who has a top spec desktop and he has a spare hour to night & a Card reader. so fingers crossed. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN in anticipation. Will let you know how I get on. Wayne, very good comment I have a couple of spare cards I can practice on - I had never thought of that :righton:

Ross & Gary the siskins are showing very well, 2pairs are visiting the setup about 6ft from the camera they take no notice, phone me on the mobile if you whant to pop down tomorrow. 'cause I going out to get recovered I hope.
