make sure you try this demo... I love this package and it's cheaper than the Nik whose interface I didn't like too much:

Other products may provide useful sharpening tools, but only PhotoKit SHARPENER provides a complete image "Sharpening Workflow". From capture to output, PhotoKit SHARPENER intelligently produces the optimum sharpness on any image, from any source, reproduced on any output device. But PhotoKit SHARPENER also provides the creative controls to address the requirements of individual images and the individual tastes of users. PhotoKit Sharpener is priced at $99.95.

Ian...I downloaded the demo for the PixelGenius Sharpener...I gotta admit...I like it a whole lot better than the Nik...A lot more neat effects and the sharpening is awesome. As soon as I can afford it, I'm buying the package. Thanks for the link.

I have been checking out sharpening techniques till it made me blue in the face... Ended up being very impressed with the PS actions of Ferenc Harmat which are MUCH cheaper than full programmes mentioned here. His web page has some great comparisons between our beloved S2 and other digicams as well as some fine comparisons between his actions and other progs. Check it out at:

Also, have just purchased a Sigma 1224 which has been very well reviewed in the UK and first thoughts are that it is indeed excellent. Will get some postings together when I can.
