Is anyone using the s2 in the studio?
I am switching to all digital in my studio and need some input.

1. What POS (point of sale) software are you using?
2. Is anyone using Express Digital?
3. What suggestions do you have for workflow ie. capture to print

Although StudioMaster Pro v2 will not allowed tethered capture with the S2 like it did with the S1, it's images are fully supported. Using a card reader or some other device, you can import your images right onto a light table, then sit with your portrait/wedding customer and create print/album orders right there on the spot. The print products and albyums are show beautifully right there on the monitor.

The user interface is very clean and much less complicated than ProShots. It's done very well.

I shoot weddings with film and use Pro Shots for that.
I just got my S2 and will be shooting portraits with it, probably using StudioMaster.

I will be shooting and sending the files directly to my capture computer. I guess I am not sure of a good software solution beyond that. I need to be able to view the files, place orders, and send to printer (at least an index print). I will have a broadband connection to a lab that I will upload files to them for the final printing. Does this sound like a productive workflow plan or am I way off in my thinking?

Thanks!!!!

I haven't tried it myself yet, but the US version comes with the "Hyper Utility Software HS-S2" for use in conjunction with the IEEE 1394 (firewire) cable to connect to your PC. I believe all camera functions are then operable from the PC.

I've used my S2 in studio for 7 months. It works great. I use Photoshop to "process" my images to take to the lab. Size your images exactly to lab specs. I just bought an Epson 7600 so now the lab is a thing of the past.
