I am no web guru. Here's what I want to do if I can't print on the spot. Perhaps you have an answer.
I want to shoot roaming and posed shots. No numbers given, names taken etc. Just hand the people a biz card with web address. After the event, they search the web site for their event. All the shots are posted with associated catalog numbers for each. They order, I ship.
I realize there are posting issues, event image access issues, order info. issues, payment receipt issues, etc. But I figure someone out is doing this and can minimize my pain.

Hi,
There are a numbe of sites online that will host your event pictures, one of the is www.photango they even take the order and provide the prints for a commision, leaving you with no hassle of taking payments etc.
Another site is www.everybodysmile, they too host event pictures.
It is a good way to sell, but I think you are better off shooting and printing instant sales are better.
Buy a printer like an olympus p400 this will print a 10 x 8 in about a minute, excellent print quality. Get an assstant.
I know someone who does this, and with the right event will take alot of money on the night.

Thanks but I don't someone to host me. I have a dye sub and Canon S9000 for on site printing. I tend to keep things "in-house" and as much under our control as possible. That way I can do tighter Q-control. I need the software. I've seen it but forgot where.

No problem your post wasnt that clear.
As for software, what do you want web galleries? Photoshop will do this, as will most viewer packages like thumbsplus.
So that the people can view the images, and order them, then you have to have the a way in which people can buy, you will need a secure server, or paypal perhaps, then someone has to have a paypal account in order to pay you for a photograph, too much hassle IMHO.
Not only that, but images can be copied off the net! I have had ones taken off my site, its amazing what folks will do.

I like Auto Site Gallery myself. Give it a try for free and buy later if you like it. Small and easy to use.
