This started in the Black and White forum and decided it needed to move here-with a challenge.
I like rust. I love rust in sunshine. I want to see your rust shots.
I'll start with one NOT in sunshine, I found where all the good old Volkswagons go!

Cool,
My name is Linda, Rusty's little sister. My brother who mirrored Rusty on the show was Steve. We'd watch the show and if he hadn't thought of some of the things already, I swear that's where he got his ideas! I had no idea what happened to the guy who played him and am sorry to hear what did. Thanks for giving the link. I know Angela (Linda on the show) went on to act in different things before dropping from sight, makes me want to find out what she's up to.
I still like rust!

I see Angela Cartwright twice a year at the Chiller Theatre convention in New Jersey. She's very nice to talk to. I'm one of Chiller's photographers. She is part of the "Lost in Space" crew. I see that she won't be at the April show, however.

Well, if you DO see her again, please tell her the other Linda says hi! <g> I knew her sister was an actress, notably Alien and The Witches of Eastwick. Good to hear not all child actors/actresses end up with sad lives.

Sorry to change your main topic --
I've met Veronica Cartwright at a past Chiller show. I coaxed the sisters to pose together. I don't have any images to post because that was taken in the dark ages (my film days).
Here's the chief security guard at Chiller. He's called Animal. He's a really nice guy -- really! He's an artist and a poet. Just don't disagree with him!
Contact me off list so I can tell you who else I've had the pleasure of meeting.
Now let's get back to rust!

Let's not forget my terrific rustic Appalachian Trail picture I took for Sandman. It's about 3/4 the way down the page.

Rust to me is like someone scraping a finger over a chalkboard. Makes me shiver to touch. Must be a phobia. I am enjoying the shots but will not touch.

Don't know, there's just always something proper about an old, rusty, pipe wrench.
Great image.

Over 100 years ago, a black smith shop was located on the farm where we built our house. I'm always finding things that were made in the shop. The ol' village smithy was feeling pretty creative the day he made what ever this thing is.

Looks like a design made from seeing our galaxy!
When Mel and I were at the Military museum yesterday they had many military pieces of equipment on display outdoors. Mel posted an image of a tank but I got up close and personal! Found RUST! :)

Hi Linda.
It does look as though the threads are getting weaker... this shot was taken just before our weekend of gale force winds - I haven't been back to the location since so this'll be "Schrodingers cable" for a few days ! :p

You guys make me appreciate rust more and more.
I want to know, would any of you seen these shots had you not thought about the rust?
Lightwrangler, amazing shots. The contrast between the old, rusted body and the still shiny chrome is quite the catch! How did you light that, just natural?

Thanks Linda,
Actually your challenge made me look more for rust, but it's a subject I've been visiting for years. The light on my two shots is natural. The sky was overcast and the sun just broke through the clouds occasionally. The chrome on the Dodge is still in pretty good shape and caught the light perfectly. The pattern you see in the chrome is a brick walkway. This are two old trucks which are on display at the "Mill District" in Toronto. Why don't you and Mel come on up and I'll show you around? It's just one of many places to shoot here.
Cheers, LW

At the NJ botanical gardens there were several abondoned garden & farm items...
I guess they'll fix that wheel next spring.
