S2 Pro working in night conditions

Hi everybody,

Really need your expert advice here....I am on the verge of getting one real soon but have some concern/queries here...Could anybody comment on the performance of the S2 Pro when used in night conditions (without use of flash & basically in long-exposure mode).

What I am particularly interested is:

1. Does the S2 Pro have significant noise level when used for night exposure?

2. Technically, TIFF or RAW mode is the best mode for editorial use (eg. in Photoshop). Does anybpdy recommend the use of JPEG here? How good is the JPEG (fine) resolution in S2 Pro? Is it still okay for editing?

3. Can I still use the SB-26 speedlight for flash photography on the S2 Pro? Anyway significant pull-backs?

I have only gone out one nite to do a little time exposure and the following shot was done with a monopod. I plan to use the camera with some astrophotography so this interests me greatly.
