Auto Focus

I recently purchased an S2 Pro and I have a Nikon 17 - 35 mm autofocus lens. I cannot get the camera to take a photograph when I press the shutter button. The camera is set for single frame, etc. It just won't work. The auto focus doesn't seem to work.

If I switch the lever to 'C" for continous, it appears to work.

Does anyone else have an auotfocus problem that does't allow the camera to function?

In the S mode, the camera won't fire until it has focus lock (small focus confirmation dot appears in finder). In Continuous mode, it will. It sounds like your lens is not focusing properly, or the camera thinks it isn't. Is there any chance you have the timer mode active? Does the camera work with other lenses? Do you get the focus confirmation dot in manual focus mode?

My s2 works perfectly w/ 17-35 afs, so this is a mystery!

Thanks for your reply. I have tried other lenses without success. The focus light (green) keeps flashing.

I thins I will take the camera back to Fuji.

The problem is fixed. Just something bent.
