I am about to be baptized into shooting individual and team pictures for a Christian Kids Basketball league that plays at my church. I have in the past shot with film and used pic-a-pac with excellent results. HOWEVER!!!! this time I will be shooting digital using the S2. Anyone out there that has experienced shooting this kind sports with the S1-S2, I would like to hear any suggestions you might have for me! I will be setting up two lights in umbrellas and had planned to shoot them in M mode settng the lights up just as I would for film? Largest print size will be 8x10 in my packages so S2 setting recommendations would be helpful. Also, any comments relevant to which lenses you have used? I currently had thought about Nikon 28-105mm, but could change that re your thoughts!
Your thoughts for this (knee knocker for me) shoot of 125 kids would really be appreciated! Oh yes, the date is January 25, 2003.
Wishing you a Prosperous and Happy New Year,

Check with your lab and see if they will take the shoot on a CD and do their Pic-A-Pac magic with that instead of negatives. The amount of labor and the time it will take to print the things out may not be worth it to you personally. Pic-A Pac is usually are real sweet deal for the customer and the photographer.

If you are shooting in Manual mode and holding the camera in a VERTICLE position to make "individual" pictures, you can easily bump the aperature and shutter speed off. I suggest putting a small piece of masking or electrical tape over the control knobs so you can't change them accidentally.:)

I purchased the left handed model of the S2 Pro and it does not have this problem. On it the adjustment wheels are on the opposite side.

Methinks you jest with me! I can only say one thing to you, "how sad it will be if you ever want to sell your left handed S2 Pro"!
Thanks to all who responded. I will come home, upload the compact flash 512mb media to my hard drive and immediately burn a copy from the camera and use that to send to Millers' for them to color correct and print for me!
To all of you, "happy New Year"!
Regards,
Roy

Back in my college days at Pittsburg State University my wife worked at Millers. They should be able to do a fine job for you.

I normally shoot Hasselblads with a frame on the left side of the camera , doing all the focusing and stuff is accomplished with my right hand. So it is just natural for me to shoot digital with this left handed beauty. The only alternative was to hold the S2 upside down, but then the controls are not as convienent, and the neat little thumb area is in the wrong place.

In fact last year I spent the entire month of October driving through the UK and Ireland. It only takes about 2 very stressful hours to get use to the right handed wheel and the left handed roads. (95% is attitude) I particularly liked the roundabouts. Every time I am stuck at a long traffic light in Wichita, Kansas I cuss our country for not using roundabouts instead of traffic lights.:D
