I am looking at getting a firewire card reader and wondered what everyone was using and where they got them from. I am in the UK so UK links would be helpful.

I'm using one from Lexar. Don't know where my office got it from though, but there's a brand for you. :)

My Firewire reader is a Sandisk, another brand you can Google for.

let me know if you find an alternative one , most are usb2 , but you could just use the firewire connection on the S2 .

Hi Sandman,
Thanks for the link. WOW are they expensive over here. Did a quick search on Amazon and found the same one cheaper but still a long wait. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/ref=s_ce_rs/026-6431694-2170830
Why is all digital and computer stuff so expensive over here.
You people across the water don't know how lucky you are.
Just found another site with 2 firewire card readers.

One other question I have though is Do these readers work on Mac Laptops?

I would imagine so. My Sandisk reader just mounts the media as a removable mass storage device, no drivers are necessary. You might check the mfg's websites to see if there are drivers needed for various Mac OS flavors, but I would doubt it. USB readers would probably be a different story.
