Does anyone know if the S2 is compatable w/ the Quantum battery 1 & cables? I used them w/ no problems for the S1, but can't find any information on compatability for the S2.

Hello,

According to Quantum's web site you can use the Quantum QB1C with an MDC4 or XDC4 cable to power either an S1 or an S2.
I have one of these batteries that I used to power a flash with.
I've switched to a Quantum Turbo for my flash (faster re-cycle and more flashes). I'm curious too if anyone has used the QB1C for their S2.

I am using a Digital Camera Battery http://www.digitalcamerabattery.com with an Fuji S1 /Compaq Ipaq connector, they call it the DCB6VF

It works fine for me.

I have found that he CR123A batteries dont last very long (only 200 shots) as there may be some effect on these when the external power is attached.

Check out the new quantum x1/x2 and get the SD9 cable desgined for the fjui s1/s2. Then you'll also need the quantum cable to connect to your flash. While the battery will cost around $420, it's worth it if you are shooting a lot of indoor candids.

I am using a Quantum QB1C mounted on a belt clip with my Fuji S2 and its working great. I did remove the CR2 lithiums since they only provide power to the internal flash (which I never use) and when they die, they shut the whole camera down until they are removed (very inconvenient in the middle of a job). I just don't like that kind of unpredictability on a job.
This combination seems to work fine.
Yes, I am using 2 batteries. My other is a Quantum Turbo powering my SB-28. Eventually I will go for a Quantum Turbo 2 which I understand can power both the S2 and the SB-28 of the same cell. I need a few dozen more jobs to pay for that one.

I just tested my S2 with my trusty old Quantum Battery 1+ and MDC4 cable. Seems to work fine both with and without the CR123s.:)
