For all you aviators, and non-aviators, out there, you may have seen this before....

Spitfire low pass (http://www.alexisparkinn.com/oh_my_god.htm)

If not, enjoy. The language does get understandably colourful by the way !

It totally creased me up for a few minutes

Ray Hanna strikes again!

Ray's name was mentioned here as well !

Apparently he also did a low pass along a Dutch dyke as well ? - just neatly hopping over the bridge the camera was sat on !

It's the sound that gets me - a Merlin (?) on full chat - simply sublime !

( can't remember which, but I believe there was another engine fitted to Spit's - I'm assuming this one is a Merlin though ! :) )

He looked like ( a possibly younger ?? ) Guy de la Bedoyere to me - yes ?? :)

There is an opinion that maybe this was a bit of a setup ( wizzard prank :) ) and the cameraman was in on it !!

As one who grew up at the time that Spits were doing what they were designed to do I loved it. Joined the RAF when I was 15.5 years old. I was back in the UK three years ago and was lucky enough to see the Spit and the Hurricane of the Battle of Britain flight doing low passes, not as low as that though. Jets just don't sound the same do they?
