Can we expect pricing of the S2 to drop after xmas and even more so when the 14N arrives? Will the Sigma SD-9 be a player? Supposedly it is avail. in Canada but not here, usa, yet?
I may consider the 14n but I'm hoping for a steep drop on the S2, which should be adaquate for my needs.
The S2's are bouncing in, perhaps from the dock strike but holding supply to keep the price up has been popular the last few years with the likes of VW and Honda.

I think if you'll hit the Dpreview on the Sigma DSLR (SD-9) board you can make your own impressions of what the owners of that camera are thinking and doing. From what little I have read, there are some very real issues with noise, halo artifacts and color that doesn't seem right. This is to be expected with any first generation technology.
The 14n is moving from sort of late to really late. Kodak is saying they want the camera to be perfect. I suspect there may be some noise issues they are trying to work through. It seems like its price has increased somewhat from the targets in that time, so it is hard for me to believe that a camera that costs more than two times as much is going to impact the price of its little brother much, unless it is the cat's whiskers. But with an ISO of 800 and the same shutter sync speed, it is going to be a tough play.
RE: Delivery - Do they really ship the higher end digital cameras by slow boat?

Well, the 14n was predicted for December delivery but that target has moved by a month. Considering the Contax N Digital is still off again and on again over a year after its announcement, I think we can cut Kodak a little slack for wanting to give the new camera the best launch possible. The Kodak marketing folks should learn it's better to surprise people and deliver early than to set a date that you're not 100% confident of meeting.
